I don’t think that’s right. I tested with a TCL and an LG. In both cases the OSD was gone.
What I noticed is that if I do a ‘restart GUI’ or ‘Standby’ the OSD stays ok. But if you do a 'restart' or 'switch off' my OSD is mostly gone.
Hello azbox4ever
Sorry for the double post
I sent My VU+ Duo 4K SE BT Edition for repair and it came back with the mention ‘everything ok’. They re-installed the official image. Of course nothing was solved, it wasn’t ok, OSD works sometime, sometime not. Last time I buy anything from Vu+...
I planned to install the official Vu+ image. I found this:
http://vuplus.com/board/boardView.php?idx=17&pagenum=1 (is this the right image for my VU+ Duo 4K SE BT Edition?)
Does it make sense to install a bootloader first? I couldn’t find one specific to my VU+ Duo 4K SE BT Edition?
This morning, I took your settings file AS IS in your zip. I transferred it unchanged with your config.osd.* instructions using ftp, no dreamboxedit involved this time. Just to be to be sure to be certain that I don’t miss anything.
The idea was good, but IT DOES NOT WORK.
I understand, don’t worry. Thanks for everybody’s help here.
I don’t know what I am going to do with this tuner. Probably stash it in my cellar or trash it, life is too short to spend days on unreliable (and costly) hardware.
Whatever I do Vu+ is not part of it anymore.
The only backup I have is the one obtained with dreamboxedit, made before the clean re-install.
I did not use my backup after the first re-install.
I tested with several different resolutions including 1080p, before using my backup.
As I said in previously, I made the check with my initial (before any new install) sat receiver state. I edited the settings file and included these 5 instructions:
config.osd.alpha=255
config.osd.dst_height=576
config.osd.dst_left=0
config.osd.dst_top=0
config.osd.dst_width=720
Using ftp, I...
Hello
Sorry for the late answer.
Not many progress I am afraid, I have included your config.osd lines in my settings file and send it to the Vu+ with ‘ftp put settings settings’. I double checked with ftp get to make sure. It makes no difference.
Then I did a clean new install using the...
By the way here is my TV.
97.5" TCL 98C735 - Specifications (displayspecifications.com)
I bought it for 4000 euros with 5 years warranty.
Nothing special installed. l will do a new install (sigh) of openbh, as soon as I feel like it.
The idea with the skin is interesting. I changed the skin to “default OE-A <Emergency>”. The problem didn’t go away; I still don’t see the menu on my TV screen. I will probably re-install openBH in the near future (sigh).
Thanks for the help.
This is really a strange problem, I couldn’t find much about anything similar on the web.
I think I will have to carry out a fresh installation. I was afraid that it would come to this. Currently I use openwebif on my phone. Because I still can watch Sat TV, a new installation won’t happen...
“Did it display during installation, when loading OpenBh 5.1?”
Yes, it did. I installed OpenBh half a year ago and this morning I restarted my Vu+ and that’s when the various menu options weren’t displayed anymore on TV.
“Have you tried altering your television, and receivers, display...
