Hi, and sorry if this has been asked before, but it's doing my head in.

I have a Vu+ Duo, and have had Blackhole installed for ages. Just upgraded and all good. I want to install Open BH, I have donwloaded the image, and using the same USB stick (formatted to Fat32) when flashing the new image, my box just gets stuck on "Reading USB...". Has been like this for over an hour now :(

Is there anything I can do to get over this?

Thanks in advance

Stuart

If you have anything else attached, by USB, mini keyboard, USB stick to extend memory, etc, remove them, after powering down, then try booting again.
If that isn't the problem, try a different USB stick, even ones, that have worked before, might not work sometimes.

Thanks Mick, nothing connected, just the power cable. The interesting thing. same usb key installs Blackhole but wont install Open BH :(

Some USB sticks, especially the newer ones, can be temperamental, I ten to find the older, smaller, USB sticks worked better, but I found two, cheap, Toshiba USB sticks, 8Gb, & 16Gb, work for me.

Are you sure you correctly prepared the USB stick? With the right folder and subfolders? And the right image?
Where did you download the OBH from? To download the most recent version, now we have another (official) forum where you can find the offline installers already at the last update available:
https://board.openbh.net/

and in the Download section you can find yours.

Fairly sure i am; formatting Fat32, copying across the vuplus folder and its contents.

Thanks, I will try that :)

Thanks all, have it working now. appreciate all your time and effort.

Also special with older boxes they can be picky so before formatting to fat32 make sure you have restore defaults in the Windows format tool.
And don't just ripp the usb stick out. Right click and eject it proper before you move it to your Vu+ for flashing.
