Unable to set up a timer from OpenWebif

Good evening,
I own one Vu+ Duo4K SE running OpenBH 4.4 [OpenBH 4.4.009 (2021-03-31) - Kernel / Drivers: 4.1.45 / 20200903].

I am not really sure if this issue started from today, when I run the following commands:

Code:

However, I am no more able to set up a timer from OpenWebif: by clicking on "Channel", no drop-down menu opens, then I can't choose any channels for which to set up a recording/timer.

Aggiungere timer.png

I already tried to:
- delete the browser cache
- reboot the Vu+
- perform an automatic scan

Unfortunately, there was nothing to do.

I can see and watch all the channels from
OpenWebif - Main menu - TV - Last scanned
but I can't choose any of these for recordings. :wallbash:

:thanks: Thanks to anyone who will find some time to help me. :notworthy:

Coincidentally, also on this device I am experiencing the same problem. How can i solve it?

Are you pressing the OK button, to save any timers?
I don't use Openwebif, for my timers, just the receiver, but I noticed, when editing a timer, if I pressed the OK button the receiver crashed, instead you press the green button.

Thank you @Mick12334 !

However, I would really like to solve the issue with OpenWebif and, since I am experiencing the same issue with two different Vu+, I guess this is a software bug.

Do you know how I could report this to the Developers?

I tried 3 different boxes, all unfortunately different from yours (Solo4K, Zero4K and Duo2) and there is no issue, neither running from flash nor from OMB.
Some days ago, though, it happened a strange thing: I was not able to choose any channels, when trying to create a timer from OWIF; but, after a reboot, the issue disappeared.
What happens when you try and choose a channel in the OWIF's timer page?
If you are not able to choose a channel, maybe (as I see you use ABM) it's the case to remove its bouquets and perform a clean scan, deleting old channels.
Do you also use autosettings plugins?

Ciao @Alexwilmac,
thanks for your reply. Really appreciated.

[...] Some days ago, though, it happened a strange thing: I was not able to choose any channels, when trying to create a timer from OWIF; but, after a reboot, the issue disappeared. [...]

I already tried to reboot but, unfortunately, I am still experiencing this issue.

[...] What happens when you try and choose a channel in the OWIF's timer page? [...]

No drop-down menu opens, the writing "Select an Option" simply remains.
I also tried several browser but with no success.

Unfortunately, I already tried to do this, too, but with no success.

No, since, in the past, you advised me not to use such this kind of plugins, as they could chenge system files.

One more thing, I also tried to set up a timer using the remote control (instad of OpenWebif).

Hereby, you can find the result:

Cartoonito.png

It is very strange because, as you can see, only the channel set with the remote control is visible, all the others are not.

Nevertheless, I can see a lot of channels from OpenWebif - Main menu - TV - All channels.
Why are these not listed, as available channels, for setting up a timers?

I also tried to flash my Vu+ SoloSE with BlackHole 3.1.0 + last update packages.
As a result, same issue.

I also tried to flash my Vu+ SoloSE with BlackHole 3.1.0 without installing the last update packages - BlackHole 3.1.0 (2020-10-05-master).
As a result, same issue.

I'm convincing myself that the problem could be caused by the channel list generated by the automatic scan.
I am wondering if this could be related to the fact that the list is too long or a specific channel name contains invalid/specials characters.

May someone try to do the same and let me know if someone could reproduce my same issue?

Lloyd ZX

Using DreamboxEDIT I also tried to delete all the channels, leaving only "Canale 5 HD". Unfortunately, the issue is still present ...

The strange thing is that, even if I left only that channel, from
OpenWebif - Main - Television - All channels
I can still see the following:
- Canale5 HD
- Canale5 HD
- Italia1 HD
- Italia1 HD
- Mediaset Extra
- Mediaset Italia Due
- Mediaset Italia Due
- Rete4 HD
- Rete4 HD

I really don't know what else to think, anymore. :help:

Should I call an exorcist? :wallbash:

No, also ABM surely affects your bouquets. When someone is able to use software to organise his bouquets, I think there is no reason to use artificial ways of grouping channels into bouquets.
You need to flash your favourite image and just scan for channels. The create one bouquet, just to begin, and put there your preferred channels.
Then see what happens. No ABM, nothing affecting your channels and bouquets. I bet you'll solve.
I used ABM just once but I understood it was absolutely not useful for my needs; the opposite: too much of a mess...

Thank you @Alexwilmac!

I have no more installed Auto Bouquets Maker plugin after reflashing my Vu+ Solo SE with BlackHole 3.1.0.F (2021-03-19-master).

Unfortunately, I am still experiencing this issue.

[...] You need to flash your favourite image and just scan for channels. [...]
This is exactly what I did, but the issue is still there.

Unless is a model-related issue (something I believe unlikely in this case) it's a very strange issue and when IT does odd things you must do odd tries... ;)
Can you show us your OWIF configuration? Did you set it, for instance, to use the option about the "new interface"?
Might it be a router filter?

I know ... working in the "strange IT world", indeed.

I am using the standard configuration, with classic/old OpenWebIF interface.

Might it be a router filter?
[/QUOTE]

Due to other reasons, I had to but a new modem/router device.

Unfortunately, the issue is still present. I am really not sure about what to do...

Code:

Let's try to apply the last updates and, then, let's see. :suda:

I confirm that there is something that will not be well...

The list recognized by OWB:

hz69nGM.png

The list that is really on the box:

oz8n4Xz.png

Recording is possible, now if you can not find the channel by the owb... try to get in favorites the desired channel.

But what is the reason to schedule a recording by OWB? Is it done away from home? If yes and there is no solution, use the "RCU" of OWB...

A

Alexwilmac

I repeat: I've just tried again by my 3 VU+s: all of them are perfectly able to create a timer by OWIF:
Solo4K, Zero4K, Duo2.
Last OBH update for them all.

Yes You can create a timer for any channel by OWB... not using the OWB timer button but going through the list using the EPG button.

But there is a bug, there is... repairs on the two images I put: in the 1995 channel OWB jump for the 2000.

What is OWB? ;) Please, don't confuse new users by acronyms that don't exist. The acronym for OpenWebInterFace has always been OWIF.

Yes I was referring to the OWIF... I apologize for the acronym!:fie:
