Trying to help my old dad to keep using a VU+ equipped by OpenBH, I bought him a very simple remote control with only VOL+/- and CH+/- and Power buttons and MUTE.
Unfortunately, he sometimes press for too long the keys getting into unexpected results...
I managed to neutralize these effects for each case but long pressing of CH- because this action causes a dialog box to be propted about PIP ("Please open Picture in Picture first") and he's not able to EXIT (I programmed the simplified remote to perform the EXIT action by its MUTE button, but he's too confused nowdays.
Unfortunately, the CH- long press it's not configurable by BUTTON SETUP submenu, otherwise I would simply assign it to CH-.
I found out that this behaviour concerns 5.6 and also 5.1, for instance. Instead it's not in 4.4.
So, the only way would be to modify keymap.xml, I suppose, but I don't know how to proceed. Can someone tell me which lines of this file I need to change?
Otherwise, I ask coders if would it be a good idea to fix this behaviour (of course, if it's not so important to the image) for everyone?
Another way might be to add the long press of CH- to the Button Setup choices.
Thanks and regards
