On Open BH 5.3.009 is try full backup ending crash error.
Maybe need wait on next update BH or used third party plugin.

I must say I always had problems with OBH full backups, I tried at every upgrade of the image like from 5.0 to 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 but have never been able to accomplish it succesfully. In my ignorance I think there must be a compression error when the archives are being generated and that brings to an inevitable crash of the device when trying to decompress them.
The only way I have been able to backup and restore an OBH image is by doing it from the image manager of a different image like OpenVix or OpenATV. That way I succesfully made and restored some backup i have made for testing, the only way I have found after several attempts.

EDIT: I don't know if it's the same for every STB, I'm talking about the Octagon SF8008.

It's impossible to make a backup on multiboot with all the versions of OBH. I tried many times, but in vain. With BH, it was easier. The worst is that the image and all other images on the HDD are damaged. I really do not know where the problem is. the only way is to make a backup on the OBH installed on the box.

It's a rainy day out so I took some time to try a new backup for you.

Started backing up at 13:22 and finished at 13:51 apparently without issues.

I hope it's enough.

Could you both retry using the standard skin in 5.3.010 instead of old skins

The skin I used is one of those specific for OBH, BlackShadow X2P for xtraEvent, as a matter of facts I had the VIP one on and changed it for that test but I'll try again with the standard as you need.
I'll let you know.

Done with the same risults. It took less time to make the image but returned the same issue.

Seems like it's yet another issue caused by the scripts to add more slots.

Will look into it

I thought there was something strange in the last 4 rows in the black screenshot. I might be wrong but it says to be using sda 17 and sda 18 but I was restoring in slot 13. Does it make sense?

I have some new data for you guys.

From OpenVIX 6.3
-Tried to restore the backup that had issues on slot 13, the one that seems problematic and didn't install returning the same issues as from OBH.
-Tried to install OpenVIX 6.4 image (not a backup) on slot 13 but didn't install.
-Installed OpenVIX 6.4 on empty slot 14 and installed with no problems.
At this point I thought there was a problem on slot 13 as you @Ev0 supposed.
-Tried again to install the bugged OBH backup on slot 14 but again didn't install. Confirms there is a problem with that backup.

From OpenATV 7.3
Made a backup from it's Image Manager of the OBH 5.3.010 that I have on slot 7.
Restored the backup I just made on slot 13 (the buggy one) and it installed with no problem.
This should prove that the slot 13 is ok.

That's it for now.

Well I don't know what to say.

I had 5.3.007 installed in slot 2 on sf8008, I did a full backup and restored it to slot 1 without issue.

I then did an online update to 5.3.010 and then another full backup and again flashed it to slot 1 (reason being it told me the backup can only be restored to slot 1, which I am guessing is due to the size of the backup).

Again this backup installed without issue.

So it can only be an issue with the extra slots that you have created as I don't have them I can't test that here at the moment.

For me, I always had this issue with my Duo2 and Uno4k se on OpenMultiboot.

OpenMultiboot is a plugin and has nothing to do with this subject / issue.

With OpenMultiboot sometimes just unzipping the file created and transfering the files into another zip was enough to fix the issue.

I know, but everything works fine when the image is installed in flash and the problem was only with openmultiboot.
