KODI not open on VU Plus Duo4k openhlack hole image 5.4

I'm experiencing an issue where Kodi addons won't open on my VU+ Duo 4K running OpenBlackHole image 5.4. When I try to launch an addon, I only see a black screen and the addon never loads.

  • I've tried restarting Kodi, reinstalling the addon.
  • Unfortunately, I attach my log file here.
Is there anything I can do to diagnose or fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

I had the Kodi Addons working, but everytime I started a search, it threw up an error, even after I uninstalled, and re-installed, the Addon, so I went back OpenBh 5.3, and Kodi 20.

You can try deleting all your old Kodi data, using Filezilla, but I think the problem is with Kodi 21, and the older video addons, and not OpenBh 5.4.

Delete all your old Kodi files, that are stored on your hard drive, or USB drive.

If you haven't got Filezilla, download it, it's free.

Once you have started up Filezilla, go to the Server tab, top left, and tick the option "Force showing hidden files"

Next connect to your receiver.
navigate to the hdd folder, click the + sign and delete the .kodi folder.

This will get rid of all your stored data, addons, favourites, searches, etc, which will involve you setting everything up again.

This is also a Forum, so the majority of us are just enthusiasts, who cannot constantly login, so please try to be patient, or go pay for technical support.

As I previously posted, OpenBh 5.4 only allows you to download the latest Kodi, version 21, which many addons will not work with, until their builders update the addon.

Which is why I returned to OpenBh 5.3 and Kodi version 20, which you still might need to do.

It sounds like your Kodi files have become corrupted, and I've already told you how to delete your old Kodi files, that are stored on your hard drive.
Did you try using Filezilla, and deleting your old .kodi files?

Yes, I did. I found my old.kodi file on my HDD and delete it, trying to open kodi addon but not open. How about your image backup file including kodi ,is it possible to solve or not?

I doubt my file will solve your problem.
It would help if you post a list of the addons, you're experiencing problems with.

Delete .kodi, from your hard drive, and do a fresh installation, but do not use any backup files, when prompted.

Download Kodi, then add one video addon, e.g. The Crew, and try some of the options, for films, and/or a search.

It looks like another file is corrupted, so far I've spotted kodi files in:
/usr/share/kodi
/usr/lib/kodi
/usr/lib/kodi/addons
/home/root/.kodi/userdata
/home/root
/home/root/.kodi
/tmp/kodi
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi-stb

You can try deleting all mentions, of kodi, from your hard drive, using Filezilla, or you can test it by replacing your hard drive, even with an old one, to test if the problem is the hard drive. Then do a fresh installation, of OpenBh, or other image, without allowing any backup files, to be stored.

Install kodi, from the plugins, during installation, then try starting Kodi, before loading anything else.

Do you have any USB sticks, or other devices, connected to your receiver?

When you flash an image, on your receiver, it should remove files, stored on the receivers memory, unless you use a back up option.

I already did that but unfortunately not working my STB. I thought that my case was needed some file for missing because of logs showing that not able to read advancedsettings.xml and profile. I have not idea how to solve that problem.

You've already tried a different, formatted, hard drive?

Have you got any other storage device, attached?

A fresh installation, without using any backup files, should format the receivers flash, thus any corrupt file should be stored on an external storage location, like the hard drive.

The fact that you've tried all this, and different addons, leaves me stumped.
