OpenBh 5.1

1.jpg

OpenBh 5.1 is based on the OE-Alliance 5.1 core.

So what is different in OpenBh 5.1 then?

The main change from OpenBh 5.0 to OpenBh 5.1 is that Python has been upgraded from Python 3.9 to Python 3.10 and 99% of the old redundant Python2 code has now been removed completely.

Whats New:

  • OE-A 5.1
  • Python 3.10
  • Extensive changes to meet Python3.10 requirements.
  • Fixed all known issues with FCC on Vu+boxes... (Channel number and usb tuners with no video).
  • If your favourite plugins no longer work, you will need to contact the plugin authors to ask them to update their plugins for Python3.

Apart from the above you should not notice many differences between previous OpenBh 5.0 and OpenBh 5.1 images.

PLEASE NOTE FROM THIS RELEASE WE WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPORTING THE FOLLOWING BOXES, VU+ SOLO, DUO, UNO

There isn't a password.
You need to enter a password, to get certain tools to work, like Filezilla and dreamboxedit.
To do this just go into the OpenBh menu, on your receiver, go to network, then Password.
Set a password, which can be anything, once completed press enter, on the virtual keyboard, then press green button, to save the password.
Once completed enter this into any of the useful utilities, to get them to work.
You can also enter a password, from your PC, using Telnet, if you know how to use telnet.
Please post back if you experience any problems.

You can get Kodi 19.4, Leia, by running OpenBh 5.0

you can find it in plugins, download plugins, and I think it's in extensions.
There are a few addons, that claim to work with Kodi 20, but for now I'm sticking with OpenBh 5.0 and Kodi 19.4.

You turn on downloads option, in your Kodi addon, set the location, you want to download to, usually Media/HDD/movies, if you have an internal hard drive, then when you find streams, you press the menu button, and select download.

Well, first of all, thanks to all for your answer!

I can't find kodi to install 0.o'

I tried in openbh 5.0 and 5.1 (fresh install), but the option didn't appear. I don't know the reason.
I searched in all menus but nothing.
Not appear in openbh speed.
Not appear in add-ons, extension...
Not appear "download add-ons"...

I have even tried by telnet to look for it with the command "opkg list | grep Kodi" and nothing.

I'm doing something wrong?
Vu+ zero. Fresh install.
Not HDD. Not usb installed.

Thanks

Did you try in the plugin menu?
Go into plugins, press the green button, to download plugins, go into extensions and scroll all the way down to Kodi, and see if it's there.
the VU+ Zero is very old, and has limited flash memory, I think it was originally designed as a second receiver, as it was brought out around the same time as Sky UK produced their second receiver option, to link to a main receiver.
Code:

If your receiver really is the older VU+ Zero it might not be capable of handling kodi, which is why it's not available.
Did you take a look at the link?
