Hello, I have a Uno 4K SE receiver and have installed the Open Black Hole image (version 6.0.003). When I go to the "Fast Channel Change" settings, enable "FCC Enabled," and adjust the "Max Channels" setting, the screen goes black and no picture appears when I switch satellite channels. However, if I disable "FCC Enabled," the problem is resolved and the picture returns. I would appreciate it if this issue could be fixed so that the picture remains visible when the "Max Channels" setting is adjusted. Thank you.

I have a Vu+ Uno 4K SE receiver running Open Black Hole 6.0.003.

I have found a problem with the Fast Channel Change (FCC) function.

When FCC Enabled is turned ON, I get black screens / No Signal on some channels when switching channels using Channel Up/Down, even when I am already on the same satellite.

The problem also occurs when using a USALS motor and switching to another satellite. After the motor moves to the new satellite, some channels may show No Signal or a black screen.

If I disable FCC Enabled, everything works normally. All channels display correctly when switching Channel Up/Down, and satellite changes with the USALS motor also work normally.

I also tested different Max Channels values, but the problem remains as long as FCC is enabled.

So the issue seems to be related to FCC channel switching, both on the same satellite and when changing satellites with a USALS motor.

I have attached screenshots/photos showing the settings and the problem.

Please investigate this issue and consider fixing it in a future OpenBH version.

In future please post in the correct section and start a thread, rather than just post on the end of any random thread you find, and don't spam the board with your issue if you don't get a quick answer, make a post and wait for someone to reply.

As for the issue, i've no idea what the problem could be, but FCC is working here with Max channels set (using Ultimo4K), I don't have access to my Uno4K SE right now, but it uses the same tuner and same plugin and same enigma2 code so I can't think why it would not work exactly the same.

So maybe go through and double / triple check your tuner settings and if any of the channels are encrypted then check you cam / softcam settings too.

The problem is 99.9% in your setup and not the image or FCC itself.

Hello there. I previously had the PLi 9 image installed; the picture is sharper, and the image runs much more smoothly. Even when playing back movies recorded on the hard drive, the picture quality is excellent. If you apply those same settings to the Open Black Hole image, you should get great results too. Thanks.

If the picture is so much better in PLi 9 then maybe you are better off going back to that image as I have not seen anybody else complain about the picture quality in openbh (or any other image for that matter).

My friend, I’m speaking from experience—we tested this with several images. When I suggest working on and improving the image quality and smoothness to match the PLi 9 image, I’m doing so in the interest of making improvements. In any case, I was just sharing my feedback; it isn't right to respond by telling me to go install PLi 9 if I’m not satisfied. That isn't a logical response. If you’d like, I can record videos of both images and show you the proof.

It is very possible that you have a better picture using OpenPLi 9, however it will be subjective and will also depend on your exact equipment (your specific tv and the stb you use) and the settings you use (720p, 1080i / 1080p, 2160p30, 2160p, 50hz, 60hz etc etc).

At the end of the day, all images use the same drivers for the individual boxes and the drivers are what control the picture that is output.

So any differences are from video enhancement settings, which users can tweak themselves in openbh, to suit their exact needs.

We will not be changing the factory driver pre-sets.

So maybe my previous reply came across as a little abrupt and for that I apologise, but you just posted that you have better picture quality on OpenPLi in the same thread that you also stated you had an issue with FCC, so it seemed to me that you were happier with your previous image choice and therefore it might make more sense to simply go back to the image you are used to using.
