Install Kodi on network HDD

Installed BlackHole 3.1.0 and then OpenBH 5.1 on OMB. On BlackHole my wifi device works great (it shows MT7650u_sta). Same on OpenBH, but when I try to configure WLAN, changes never get saved. If I try to find wireless network I get a python error and Enigma2 reboots. There's no /etc/Wireless folder on OpenBH (it is on BlackHole).

Yes, I did it, /media/hdd but Kodi goes to flash memory so not enough free space.
Check the mount manager options, under network.
Originally you went into the menu, to mount a USB stick, before connecting the USB stick, but I'm not sure if you still need to do this.
There are still guides, available, if required, I'll try to find one.

Finally what is working at this time to me:

OpenBH 4.4
Flashexpander
Drivers MT7610U_sta

I use OpenBH 4.4 because flashexpander is python2 so if I install OpenBH 5.1 wich is python3, flashexpander causes an error and image doesn't boot after restart.

Found an old guide:
Code:

You should still be able to fit a USB stick, as a recording option, but an internal hard drive is still better.
Have you ordered the missing cables, or aren't you bothering?

Not being there the folder means nothing... Install OBH on OMB, then unload one of these drivers (or both), reboot and then insert the USB Weirelless Stick.

Is it strange... I just wage with OBH on OMB the shoulder even with the flash?
If I install OpenBH 5.0 or 5.1 in OMB they "work" but I can't install wifi drivers because they get stuck on BOOTING screen. If I don't install wifi drivers I can see MT7650U_sta and configure WLAN, but changes never get saved and interface is allways OFF ( I select use interface, but automatically goes OFF).

If I install OpenBH 5.0 or 5.1 in flash, all works OK, but I can't expand flash memory, so can't install Kodi.

Sorry, eheh... I was thinking about another problem!

Powerline will be the solution... There are several models and at affordable prices.

You may consider the much more comfy choice of powerlines, instead of wifi devices: no drivers needed, usually no big problems in sending signals from the router to a electric socket near your box: the best solution, in my experience, and now not expensive, too.

I own vu solo 2 as well and when i try to install kodi i get the same errors like 100 times
I have an internal drive attach with a lot of GB availiable. How can I install kodi at my HDD?

Have you checked that your VU+ Solo2 is genuine?
Is your internal hard drive recognized, and is the recording path media/HDD/Movie, or have you changed it?
Which image do you have installed, and do you have it on multiboot or in the flash?

I have buy my vu solo 2 back to 2011 for 300 euros I think its the original one. How can I make sure is genuine?
Yes right now I am using the HDD only for recording at the default path media/hdd/movie
I am using the last image of openbh 5.1 before i was using the image blackhole 3.1 from the blackhole community
I have never use multiboot. I just follow Ev0 posts and update the image.

When I tested OpenBh 5.1, I discovered that it only had the latest, testing version, of Kodi 20, available for download, but it did install. on my VU+ duo 2, but when I tried to run my old video addons it crashed, as they were not suitable, for Kodi 20.
Have you tried installing OpenBh 5.0, and downloading Kosi 19.4, from the plugin menu?

Thanks for the replay again @Mick12334
I just find out (after eleven years) that my receiver is genuine. (i watch a video at youtube that you can see the difference)
As I said i was using version 3.1 for a lot of time. I update to version 5.1 because the BH image stop updating since October of 2020
Can you tell me please the method I can install kodi at my HDD. I will report if i get any problems. I am not using a lot video plugins.

Installing the Kodi plugin automatically puts files, on your hard drive, and stores all information, from your addons. If you've installed Kodi before, from an old plugin, then these might be causing the problem.
Try flashing your receiver with OpenBh 5.0, and see if kodi 19.4 installs correctly.

If not you might have to delete all the old Kodi files, on your HDD
