What is OpenBH ?

It is an exciting project from the same team that produce the Black Hole images.

This latest project is now based on the OE-Alliance git and coding infrastructure, which means it is not only Open Source, but it is also compatible with all OE-A and PLi plugins, feeds, skins and it also features full online update support (for those users that do not like having to do a full reflash everytime there is an image update). We have just given it the Black Hole touch.

This means it has the Green Panel and Blue Panels as found in the previous Open BlackHole and the standard Black Hole images, we have also added the BlackHole addons panel and included Full HD skin support..

As with the standard Black Hole images, we continue to support Genuine Vu+ Boxes only and therefore our images are optimised for Vu+ boxes and will only work on these models (any openBH, Open BlackHole, or Black Hole images you see on the internet for other box models or clone models are not official images and we offer no support for those boxes or images).

Do I have to upgrade to this new OpenBH image ?

No you don't have to upgrade to the new OpenBH image, this image is completely separate from the original Black Hole image, this is simply an alternative image so we can offer our users more choice, if you are happy with your current image, then you can continue to use that image, if you want to try the new openBH image then you can do so.

What about the Black Hole and Black Hole Prism Images ?

For those of you worried about the standard Black Hole and Prismcube image, please don’t worry, we remain committed to the standard Black Hole and Black Hole Prism images and image updates will continue as normal, this new OpenBH image is an additional project and we are fully committed to all images.

Why its size is much less than that of standard blackhole image?

The most important question is whether this image supports blindscan on Vu Uno 4k. I know it does very well on Vu Solo 2 but blindscan plugin on Uno 4k is returning nil results.

So far, no any 4K box or image support blind scan,
the question for VU + coders and drivers.

I have heard that DREAMBOX 900 UHD supports blindscan. I don't know whether it's true or not.

I installed this image and everything is working well, including Kodi. The problems that I have is that when I enable HTTV, The Youtube TV doesn't work and the other problem is that when I try to do Full Backup on Hdd, it stops at 54% and gives me errors. Are these problems known, or I'm doing something wrong?

This is a screenshot of the errors I'm having when I try to do Full Backup on my Hdd.

You have space on your hdd to create backup.
I think you nead around 3 times more from size image [ image or image+kodi ]

Thanks for your reply. I have enough space on my Hdd.

Hard disk info from Vu+:

Hard disk model: Seagate(M3)
Capacity: 892.6 GB free / 931.5 GB ("1 TB") total (/media/hdd)

Try this

Telnet

opkg update
opkg install bzip2

Then try your backup.

That did the trick! Full Backup OK now. Thanks

Are there any solutions for YouTube TV on this image?

Only Vuplus or OE-A must fix the issue with HbbTV and YoutubeTV.
We have to wait until it´s fixed.

There is something wrong/peculiar with this image. Somehow, my satellites.xml is not working properly. Only those satellites are working which are pre-stored in the image. The signal is detected by signal finder on other transponders, the channels are also tuned but no picture. Check your tuner configuration is the message which pops up. The blackhole image on the other hand is working fine. Maybe this image is not compatible with the diseque I am using. The DCC also behaves abnormally on this image and gets stuck often.

Not,

It's nothing with the image more likely with your Sat list and satllites.xml
Note that you have a good Sat list and/of satellites.xml
Settings type 4
Some images work with Settings type 4 and Settings type 3 (old format)
BH image working with Settings type 3 and i think with Settings type 4 (not tested)
Im using @likra settings but in Open Black Hole i have to scan Otherwise I have no picture.
The same settings Settings type 3 working in Black Hole image without new scan.

Hi, can anyone tell me what means a green up arrow on the infobar?

Usually appears when the Vu is on for a few hours. It appears where I select in this image. Thank you very much.

When it lights, means that you have online updates available.

This is a screenshot of the errors I'm having when I try to do Full Backup on my Hdd.
It seems there was a bug in OBH 1.0.001 (the first release) that was not present during testing with full backup.

It has been fixed in 1.0.002 however it seems the fix does not come through via online update for some reason.

Therefore the only option to fix, is to download the new file (attached to release post) and reflash the box (you can use a settings backup to make it quicker to setup the box again).

I have reverted to old image 0.6 open blackhole due to persistent issues with tuning of satellites not pre-loaded in the 1.00 image. Other xml data saved in dreamedit is also not being read properly. Kindly rectify this issue in the upcoming iterations of image and please do include data of satellites which have footprint in Asia also. The 0.6 image has all the satellites xml data. Why they have changed this configuration in 1.0 is strange to comprehend. Regards

Looking forward to new image. 1.0 has some tuner issues especially relating to Asian satellites.
